Terms of Service

Version 1 — Effective 12 September 2026

These Terms govern your use of the services we provide under the name “SplatStroll” (including SplatStroll Avatar, SplatStroll Map and SplatStroll Story; together, the “Service”), provided by Studio Duckbill LLC (“we”, “us”). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

Where a company other than us provides a service under its own name using the technology behind the Service, that service is governed by the terms and privacy policy issued by that company.

1. About the Service

The Service is offered free of charge so that the public can experience the results of our research and development in 3D Gaussian Splatting. Some features or content require registration (Section 2).

2. Registration

1. You register by submitting an email address and opening the link we send to that address. The Service does not use passwords.
2. You must register with a valid email address that you are able to receive mail at.
3. Your account is for your own use only. You may not lend, transfer or share it with any third party.
4. You are responsible for the security of the email containing the sign-in link and of any device on which you remain signed in.

3. Suspension and deletion of accounts

1. You may request deletion of your account at any time, using the contact form linked at the end of these Terms.
2. We may suspend or delete an account without prior notice if you breach these Terms, or if we reasonably determine that your conduct interferes with the operation of the Service.
3. If we discontinue the Service, we will delete registered accounts.
4. After an account is deleted, the personal information we hold is handled as set out in our Privacy Policy.

4. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

• violate any law or public order and morals;
• infringe the rights, property or reputation of us or any third party;
• interfere with the operation of the Service, or place an excessive load on our servers or network;
• gain or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, or circumvent its authentication;
• use another person’s account or email address without authorisation;
• publish or share, through the Service, data in which you hold no rights; or
• engage in any other conduct that we reasonably determine to be inappropriate.

5. No warranty; no support

The Service is provided “AS IS”. We make no warranty of any kind as to its operation, the accuracy of its content, or its fitness for any particular purpose, and we do not provide support. We may change, interrupt or discontinue the Service without notice.

Except in cases of our wilful misconduct or gross negligence, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

6. Scope of use

You may use the Service free of charge — whether as an individual, an organisation, or commercially — to display 3DGS data that you hold, and to share video of such display.

You warrant that you hold the rights necessary for any data you bring to the Service, and that such data does not infringe the rights of any third party.

7. Intellectual property

The content of this website (information, materials, images, audio, trademarks, designs and the like) belongs to us and is protected by copyright and other laws. You may not reproduce, republish, modify or redistribute it without our permission.

Rights in data you bring to the Service remain with you or the rightful owner. We will not use such data beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms. Where a change materially affects your rights or obligations, we will issue a new version and ask you to accept it. Until you accept, features that require registration may be unavailable to you.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Any dispute between you and us relating to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court having jurisdiction over our registered office as the court of first instance.
